Employees at Hangar 5 Trampoline Park in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire are becoming challenge heroes for BBC Children in Need, by taking on a non-stop 48 hour bounce-athon. Money raised will go to support disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

This physical challenge will be demanding on the team – just one hour of bouncing can burn up to 1,000 calories! The team will single out a special trampoline – complete with Pudsey’s trademark patches – and take on 1 hour shifts of non-stop bouncing to carry them from 6.00pm on Wednesday 11 November to 6.00pm on the big day itself – Friday 13 November.

“We are so excited to be utilising our facilities to raise money for such an incredible cause,” said Park Manager, Rob James. “Children In Need is a fantastic cause and it’s great to see how it brings the whole of the country together. Myself and all the team here are all looking forward to the challenge – hopefully it will help me shift last years’ Pudsey Cupcakes!.”

Hangar 5 is the first and biggest indoor trampoline park in Wales, located in an unused aircraft hangar near Haverfordwest Airport, Pembrokeshire and opened to the public on 15 July 2015.

“From the initial concept and planning stages, we always knew we’d want to do something for charity, in particular Children In Need and the fact that we have such a high intensity activity, it makes sense to push our physical boundaries to raise money to help others.” said Director, Kevin Howells.

Hangar 5 welcomes the public to drop by during the fundraising and customers are able to bounce alongside the fundraisers as well as view from the Hang 5 Cafe seating area, which will be serving special Pudsey Hot Chocolates and Cookies to help raise money. Hangar 5 has over 100 interconnecting trampolines across 10,000 square feet, including a basket ball slam dunk area, dodge ball and volleyball court, punch bags, wall-side trampolines and a giant air bag.

BBC Children in Need works throughout the year to ensure that every child in the UK has a safe, happy and secure childhood, and the chance to reach their full potential. It relies on the energy and commitment of thousands of fundraising heroes and supporters across the UK, who donate their time and money to support the Appeal. Whether through cake sales, dance offs or treasure hunts, every penny of the money raised goes towards supporting projects across the UK.

Every single penny raised by BBC Children in Need goes directly to UK projects working with children and young people who may be affected by neglect, abuse or poverty, or those who have faced challenges in their lives such as serious illness, disabilities and psychological disorders.
